How easy is it to add memory to your computer?
Can you do it yourself?

it is pretty simple to do but you need to know exactly what type of memory your pc uses, now you're going to ask me "how do I do that?"

Use this link below and enter your pc details and it'll tell you what type you need

You'll see some pictures of memory on this website so if you're not familiar with messing about with pcs at least when you open you pc base unit you'll know what to look for - the memory will be in plug-in slots that plug in to the motherboard and if there are any spare slots next to the existing memory then you can add extra memory, however, I'd advise you to remove one of the memory boards to double check that you know exactly what memory you need to buy

also, it should say on the board what type/size memory it is so you need to get the exact same

As an example, say you have 2 x 512mb memory cards = 1GB of ram, you can up this to 2 x 1GB cards to give you 2Gb of ram

Obviously don't do any of this with the pc turned on but it'll take you 10mins maximum

Once done, right click on your "My Computer" icon, then click on "Properties" and you'll see the memory has increased

Hope this helps you
